Study abroad with IGE

Scholarships

Both need and merit based scholarships are available for IGE programs. What follows is a brief outline of the aid we make available every semester for enrolled students. Don’t let money stand in the way of your decision to study abroad. We at IGE are willing to help you make your term a reality – just let us know how we can help.

Airfare Credit

Vienna ($1,000), Costa Rica ($650)

This is a need-based credit that is awarded to students for whom the cost of airfare represents a significant impediment to studying abroad. Priority for these awards is given to students who apply before March 15 and October 1 for the Fall and Winter/Spring terms respectively.

PELL Grant Matching Scholarships

Vienna ($1,500 max), Costa Rica ($500 max)

These are need-based matching grants that are designed to offset the increased cost of studying on an IGE program relative to one’s home campus. To be eligible students must demonstrate that they are PELL grant recipients and that the IGE program is more expensive than studying on their home campus.

Loss of Aid Scholarships

Vienna ($1,500 max), Costa Rica ($500 max)

For students who lose merit-based financial aid in order to study abroad, IGE may replace some of that lost aid up to the maximum amount for each program. These scholarships are awarded on a case-by-case basis and priority will be given to students who apply early.

Bring a friend discount

Vienna or Costa Rica ($250)

Any student who enrolls on an IGE program is eligible for a tuition reduction of $250 if they bring a friend with them on the program during that term. Students must notify an IGE representative at the time of application.
